Happy 2011!

Hey all our blog viewers! Everyone knows I'm a photo junky and a people person. So- this in my way to show my photos and talk to my friends & family through my pictures.

It's been awhile since I have written. Well- life is rolling along here in North Carolina. Not much has changed in our lives. We have been searching around for that perfect house to buy.....still looking. (we're REAL picky) We are happy with the home we live in- but looking forward to this next step.

Mert is now teaching 7th grade Math. YAY! I still can't believe he went from engineer to teacher??!! Crazy! It's funny listening to his daily stories- I sometimes feel like his mentor! I'm proud of him & hope that he continues to enjoy it! Like they say- it takes a special person to teach our youth".

The dogs are still kicking! They are moving much slower BUT they seem to be happy. Their once strong muscular legs are now a bit weaker. Not much playful running these days! They enjoy their soft beds & pillow pets...ha! We love you Wrigs & Dottie!

As for me.....well I'm still ME. I still love photography & enjoy learning more & more from my "photo-friends". Shugar-Shots Photography had a fun 2010! I am starting to get back into Yoga & other healthy activities. As always, I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with my family & spending time with Mert. Life is good!

Doughnuts!!??

We took a Sunday morning trip to Krispy Kreme! Yum. Sarah & Shelby had WAY to many doughnuts. But Mert had the grand total of maybe 4 or 5. ha

A Fall Day at the Lake..

LOve this photo of our shadows. It's our new family photo! ha
My girl still loves a dip in the lake.
Seriously- Wrigley is the perfect dog model! I'm not sure what has caught his eye.

ME & the pups. Mert can actually take a photo too!

I love my boys! Aren't they good looking?!

Pumpkin Picking!

A Sunday trip to Jean's Berry Patch. We actually went there to pick out our pumpkins. They have pumpkins in the fall & strawberries in the spring. Shouldn't it be "Jean's Pumpkin Patch". Anyway- I just love the sign b/c we all know my mom's name is Jean!

BLUEberry Picking~

We found a little blueberry farm near our house. (and a good-ole southern man there to greet us!) I was so excited when we found this place- berries are so good when picked fresh. I came home and made some pretty good blueberry muffins. YUM!

At the House!

Somebody asked me the other day if I had a lot of wedding photos up. Well- sort of but not really. How is that answer? I have a few favorites but they are all small. (nothing too big for our small house) I just love this old barn wood frame- a few small black & white photos fit it well. Mert enjoys finding cheap used things for our house. LOVE this cute little yellow lamp.
Okay- I'm a cheese-ball (yes I took a picture of my kitchen table...) We had a "dinner-party" (that sounds so fancy...GAY) Let me start over- we had company over for dinner. ha ha- I like that better! I just love how fun my table looked!

THis was dinner- Cajun Shrimp Pasta! Wow- Mert!!! G--O--O--D!!! He sure knows what he's doing in the kitchen.

Family REunion!

We took a trip to Maryland for a family reunion. My dad's side of the family is great- lots of kids, smiles, Loud Voices and love! I enjoyed seeing everyone, especially my Gram! This photo is my Gram (red & blue shirt) and her two sisters.
Gram & my sisiter Jen doing a little "catching-up"
"ALL" the great-grandkids. too cute

I love this photo- I think my dad might be a kid at heart!

Gram & all her girls. (my cousins) We're a good looking bunch!

Fun in the Pool!

Shelby & Sarah LOVE to swim. They had a blast swimming and being thrown around the pool

Cup of Joe

Seriously- how can you not wake up and have a fresh cup of coffee. I look forward to the weekends- waking up slowly and drinking coffee all morning. It's nice! So check out this mug- too cute. I love "old" & "used" things- Mert found this .25 cent beauty!

Dan & Lisa ARE married!

Dan (Mert's brother) married Lisa on a beautiful July evening. They got married on the beach in the beautiful surroundings of Lake Michigan. Many friends & family joined the celebration!

A trip to the Tobacco Trail

The Tobacco Trail is a huge trail that goes for miles. It's really nice to jog, walk or bike on in the summer because of the shade. It's basically a big trail in the woods. I LOVE it, especially when I take my camera. I went with two other gals- We were prepared for our four mile walk. I had my NEW camera, and Christy had her "camel-back" water thingy. We looked like a bunch newbies walking the trail. ha ha! Anyway- I got some really cool photos. I'm still figuring out my new camera, which by the way I'm in LOVE with. It seems to be taking great photos so far!

One Year Together!

Happy Anniversary to US!!! Here we are a year later. May 9th 2009 was a wonderful DAY! Eating our cake a year later. It was okay- Mert really enjoyed it!

Good Memories! wildflowers, sap buckets, booze.......

Loving Nature!

Dottie & Wrigley are doing well!! They love kicking around in nature.

Durham Bulls Game

Throw-back night at the Old Durham Bulls Stadium! This is the stadium where the movie Bull Durham was filmed. The team usually plays at their new ball-park. It was small & old. FUN game!

First Grade Field-Trip!

Baby Gator!
Okay, this was not cool!!! Can you tell I freaked!??

THis is me and Mrs. Johnson. She is my assistant in the classroom! LOVE HER!!!!
