Happy 2011!



Hey all our blog viewers! Everyone knows I'm a photo junky and a people person. So- this in my way to show my photos and talk to my friends & family through my pictures.



It's been awhile since I have written. Well- life is rolling along here in North Carolina. Not much has changed in our lives. We have been searching around for that perfect house to buy.....still looking. (we're REAL picky) We are happy with the home we live in- but looking forward to this next step.



Mert is now teaching 7th grade Math. YAY! I still can't believe he went from engineer to teacher??!! Crazy! It's funny listening to his daily stories- I sometimes feel like his mentor! I'm proud of him & hope that he continues to enjoy it! Like they say- it takes a special person to teach our youth".



The dogs are still kicking! They are moving much slower BUT they seem to be happy. Their once strong muscular legs are now a bit weaker. Not much playful running these days! They enjoy their soft beds & pillow pets...ha! We love you Wrigs & Dottie!



As for me.....well I'm still ME. I still love photography & enjoy learning more & more from my "photo-friends". Shugar-Shots Photography had a fun 2010! I am starting to get back into Yoga & other healthy activities. As always, I enjoy walking my dogs, spending time with my family & spending time with Mert. Life is good!

In Memory of our Sweet Boy....Wrigley

We miss you Wrigley. Our best buddy had to leave us a few weeks ago. It has been such a painful time for us to have to say good-bye to such a wonderful dog and an amazing friend. We know Wrigley is happy now- running around and chasing every squirrel he sees! We think about him each day and remember all the fun times shared with our buddy Wrigs.

Seeing Mert miss his best friend has been one of the hardest things to see. He loved Wrigley with his whole heart. Wrigley was such a loyal dog to Mert and everyone that loved him. There will never be another Wrigley.



















A Snowy Day Hike!

  1. Crazy cold water! Could you imagine rafting in that? aahhh! (not me!) Lisa & Dan having some FUN!

    What a beautiful hike- glad we didn't slip off the mountain. Yes, it was tricky hiking in the snow/ice- but totally worth it! Beau-ti-ful!!!!

A Winter Waterfall!

This was SO COOL!!! We took a winter hike to find this waterfall- cold & frozen but still flowing! I couldn't put down my camera- the perfect photo moments were everywhere...

It was a blast flying down the hills on our tubes. I was amazed at how FAST we could go!

A Weisenreder winter wonderland Vacation!

We spent a week at Deep Creek Lake with the Weisenreder gang. It was a blast- skiing, tubing, hiking, shopping, playing in the snow, laughing, eating, drinking, cooking, decorating cookies, playing games and just hanging with each other. We stayed in a beautiful house right on the (frozen) lake.

We had a great time visiting my mom & dad. They love to make the holidays Extra Special! Good times in Old Town- beautiful lights & good food and drinks!


The Start of our Holiday Travels....

AS we began our travels for the holidays we sniffed out two wandering dogs on the highway. Two beautiful labs were in the middle of highway 85. We called their owners- thankfully they had dog tags on. Mert REALLY wanted to keep the choc. - so so cute! Seriously- Couldn't this be an ad for sunglasses??!! I enjoy taking pictures of mert when he's not looking!

Heading out to the lake with our kayaks is one of our favorite things to do together. Great sunsets!

Bald Head Island

Here are a few photos from September that I forgot to post. My parents & I took a trip to Bald Head Island NC. It was such a beautiful place. We took a ferry over to the island that has NO cars. You need a bike or a golf cart to get around. We decided to go for the golf cart. It was nice hanging out with my mom & dad. Good times!









Collards anyone?!

What is Mert up to now in the kitchen? Well.....He is making some southern collards for the first time on Thanksgiving. Mert always likes to add something different to the menu! pretty good!

We had a Fun Run at our school. We had FUN getting exercise & raising money for our school.
